If you have been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) in Georgia, you need to defend your rights, driving privileges, and liberty as soon as possible. The importance of having an experienced DUI attorney on your side in these types of cases is crucial. Your choice can make the difference between going to jail or going home and keeping your driving privileges or losing your license. DUI penalties are severe and can include:
With experience as a former prosecutor, The Young Law Firm can help defend you against your first or subsequent DUI charges. Having our decades of trial experience behind you can help minimize the consequences of your Marietta DUI charge and can help protect your ability to drive while your case is pending. We can help you face your charge, deal with the criminal and civil aspects of your case, and answer any questions you may have regarding
Following your arrest, the arresting officer will forward what is known as a DDS form 1205 to the Department of Driver Services (DDS). This form will be filed if your blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08 or greater or if the requested State's test is refused. Once this form is completed by the law enforcement officer, there are only 10 business days for your lawyer to submit a letter to the DDS requesting an Administrative License Suspension (ALS) hearing, and your lawyer's request will then prevent your license from being suspended immediately.
At this hearing, your DUI attorney can fight the automatic suspension that occurs when the Georgia DDS receives a form 1205. We can file the appropriate paperwork to request the hearing and begin working toward preserving your driving privileges.
For effective defense against drinking and driving charges and the DDS suspension of your driver's license, call 770-795-9596 or contact us online to set up your initial consultation with our DUI defense lawyer. Failing to act quickly could have lasting and catastrophic consequences.
